Belgium, Art Moderne, ca. 1960

Wenge, an exotic African hardwood, in a steel frame, with seven drawers, each with black-painted metal pulls, stamped “WABBES”, and two pull-out trays. The top right drawer has its original manufacturer’s plaque. Similar desk reproduced on page 116 of Marie Ferran-Wabbes’s Jules Wabbes: 1919-1974.
